Local time on 24 July, wildfires raged through forests in North Algeria due to the extreme heat and drought. Tens of people were killed and hundreds evacuated.

Algeria local time on 24 July 2023, Fengyun 3D (FY-3D) meteorological satellite sent back a true color image of the fires (Figure 1), the fires were located along the coastal region in the north of Algeria, and stretched to north Tunisia. The soot and smoke were sent to the Mediterranean by strong wind.
